Wizz Air Named Title Sponsor of the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon

For more than two decades, Wizz Air has been an integral part of the Polish economy, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs and helping many Poles fulfill their dreams of joining the aviation industry. Sponsoring the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon presents a unique opportunity to further engage local communities and inspire active participation, both in the air and on the ground.
In 2025, Wizz Air will continue its dynamic expansion at its Warsaw base, adding four new Airbus A321neo aircraft, bringing the size of the fleet based in the Poland’s capital to 34. This growth will lead to the launch of 11 new routes and increased flight frequencies on several popular connections, offering more than 1 million additional seats. This represents a 10% increase in capacity compared to 2024. New routes will include destinations such as Genoa, Pisa, Dortmund, and Bucharest, as well as daily connections between Warsaw and Paris. The ongoing expansion at the Warsaw Chopin Airport reflects Wizz Air's strong commitment to the Polish market and its position as a leader in the low-cost airline sector.
Wizz Air is a key sponsor of running events across Europe, sponsoring eight running events in seven countries. In 2024, a record 129,000 runners participated in running events sponsored by Wizz Air, marking an impressive 82% year-on-year increase in participant numbers. This year, the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon joins this growing network, further strengthening the airline's commitment to promoting an active lifestyle and community engagement.
As we continue to grow in Poland, our home market, we are proud to support the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon, further strengthening our bond with this vibrant city.

Andras Rado, Corporate Communications Director at Wizz Air: "We are excited to announce the ninth Wizz Air running event across Europe, marking a significant milestone that underscores our long-standing commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. We believe that together with Wizz Air, we will create a unique running event that will not only serve as an excellent platform for athletes but also inspire those who are just starting their running journey.
Sławomir Szczęsny, General Director of the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon
Sławomir Szczęsny, General Director of the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon: "We are very pleased to establish a partnership with Wizz Air, one of Europe’s leading airlines, which has supported running events in 8 European cities for years (Milan, Cluj-Napoca, London, Budapest, Skopje, Sofia, Venice, Rome). Wizz Air's presence as the title sponsor will significantly elevate the prestige and visibility of our event on the international stage and help promote the city of Warsaw. After 10 years, we have changed the event’s name to its English version, emphasizing the night-time nature of the race and its organization in Poland's capital. The Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon is ranked among the top five half marathons in Poland in terms of attendance, gathering thousands of running enthusiasts at the starting line each year. The heart of the race – the start and finish – are located at the surrounding of the PGE Narodowy stadium, and the fast, flat course leads through the most picturesque corners of Warsaw’s Praga district.
Finally, I would like to thank our agency partner, SPORTFIVE for their efforts in securing the partnership with Wizz Air. We believe that together with Wizz Air, we will create a unique running event that will not only serve as an excellent platform for athletes but also inspire those who are just starting their running journey.
